Need a Band? FAQs

Where are you prepared to travel to?

We cover most of the North of England, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Manchester, Leeds, York, Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Rochdale, Sheffield, Bradford etc. Any further, just ask.

What equipment do I need to provide?

We provide our own PA system (at no extra cost), and ask for very little– sockets, chairs and perhaps some food and drinks? A dance space would be ideal, as those feet can’t help but move!!

Do you play requests?

Yes, happily. If time allows we will even arrange and learn ‘Your Special Tune’ if it doesn’t feature in our set list!

What kind of places have you played at?

How long have Swing of Things been together?

Our core members have been playing together since 1994, but we have had a few changes along the way.

How much do you charge?

Our charges are dependant on so many things: distance we would be travelling, length of set we’d be required to play, how many members of Swing of Things will be playing, time of year, daytime or evening, day of the week etc.

The best thing to do is ask us for a no-obligation quote.

Do I need to feed the musicians?

We will happily accept the offer, but it isn’t always necessary– dependant on the event. If we have travelled quite a way, or it is a long session, it might be a good idea. Equally, if your guests are eating it’s off putting if the band’s stomach’s are rumbling ;~)
